You support the Pima County Public Library's creative, award-winning programs when you donate gently-used books and audio/video items to the Friends. Your donations help provide funding to the Library to encourage literacy and personal growth through library programs and services.

Donate Books and Audio/Visual Items

Friends accepts donations Monday–Saturday from 9am–noon at 2230 N Country Club Rd. Our volunteers can help you bring in the donation and provide a tax receipt. Most books and audio/visual items that are not water-, mold-, mildew-, or smoke-damaged will be accepted, and you will not have to wait while our volunteers sort your items. If you have enjoyed a book or other item, one of our customers will too! Please make sure your donations are in small boxes, not garbage bags or large boxes so that it is easy for our volunteers to move them and store them.

We Do Not Accept

Recycling Program

The Friends are environmentally friendly! Books that we don’t sell here are sent to a bulk buyer and given another chance at being sold. We receive 50% of any income from our book sales through that company. Books that are damaged or outdated are sent to a recycling company that pulps and recycles the book pages. The recycling company pays us by the ton, so even books we can’t use provide income for the Friends.

You can also support the library by becoming a member or making a tax-deductible contribution.

Other Ways to Support the Library

Join the Fry’s Community Rewards Program and link your card to the Friends of the Pima County Public Library to help generate funds for the Friends at no extra cost to you, just by doing your everyday shopping! If you have a Fry’s VIP card, a percentage of the proceeds from your purchases will go to the Friends.

REMEMBER: Fry’s Community Rewards asks their customers to confirm their organization choice every year.

United Way coordinates donations through automatic payroll deductions for some companies. You can select the Friends as a beneficiary of your United Way contributions. Please check with your employer for more information.

Please think of the Friends when creating your will or setting up financial plans! Talk to your financial advisor or attorney to find out how to make a lasting gift to your community that will be appreciated by family and friends. Thank you for your support of the Friends and, by extension, the Pima County Public Library.
