Meet our 2025 Board of Directors candidates, then cast your vote to make your voice heard at the Friends!
Linzie Klein: Having been born, raised, and educated here in Tucson, the Pima County Public Library has always been a large part of my life. The tradition continues with my daughter, who spends a great deal of time at our local libraries. We have taken advantage of Friends community activities, and I’ve always appreciated the efforts made by Friends to spread the love of reading throughout our community, and to spread reading materials to anyone interested. I would like to serve on the Friends Board of Directors to give back where the Board sees fit. And I believe that serving on the Board would also be an incredible opportunity for me to learn from my fellow community members.
Gerry Peterson: I have been a long-time member and board member of the Pima Green Valley Library. I am pleased that the Friends agreed to incorporate our members in an effort to encourage continued support for the Pima County public library. I believe the strong support for libraries in the community should be represented on your board.
Charlie Snyder: I’ve been a member since 2019. I’d like to be involved and contribute. I’ve been looking at various options on how to get more connected with my community. I recently spent time assisting with the Primavera Foundation, consulting on marketing and communications, through the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona / Center for Healthy Nonprofit. I enjoyed that experience and wanted to do more. I’m interested because I love reading, books and libraries. I have an English and Journalism double major primarily because of all the time I spent in libraries as a kid. Also, I should say that I appreciate that libraries today offer a lot more than checking out books: creative maker spaces, digital learning, streaming services, cultural programs, and other programs of community support.
Susannah Myerson: Returning for a second term on the Board of Directors, Susannah is looking to deepen her involvement with the Friends even further and serve our community by making connections, sharing ideas, and expanding our outreach potential. In addition to her previous term as a Board member, she has been a volunteer in several areas, including sorting incoming donations at our donation center and as a member of our Membership & Marketing Committee.
